Why We Are Doing This
Motivation & Context
The Problem
Students studying in rural government schools in Telangana face systemic barriers when transitioning into higher education or the workforce, primarily due to a lack of English fluency and vocabulary confidence:
Socio-Economic Pathways to the Gulf
A significant portion of youth from the Jagtial region traditionally migrate to Gulf countries for employment. Lacking functional English proficiency, most are confined to low-paying manual labor roles. Functional English equips them to secure better frontline, customer-facing, or supervisory positions (e.g., retail, hospitality, office support), drastically improving their earning potential and quality of life.
Academic Hurdles in Higher Education
The small fraction of students who pursue higher education (diplomas, undergraduate degrees, professional courses) often struggle immensely with English-medium instruction, leading to higher drop-out rates or lower academic performance despite their intelligence and hard work.
The Vision & Strategy
We believe that combining English language mastery with core moral values creates empowered, responsible global citizens.
2026 District-Wide Initiative
EduMargam is expanding its efforts across all of Jagtial District in 2026 to ensure maximum reach and measurable impact across multiple schools and communities.
Future Expansion
As we demonstrate clear learning outcomes and character growth from this initiative, we plan to scale fundraising efforts and expand to adjacent districts in subsequent years.
